I have four different Garmin products and this is one of the best. I have both units. It has all of the maps preloaded and is not difficult to program routes. The Quest is almost the same cost and not half the product of the Quest-2. The Quest-2 is just the right size for a motorcycle or even an automobile. It does have a smaller screen than the Nuvi series but it has a long battery life and is easy to carry for hikes or anytime, for locating places or backtracking to your car, camp or home.
However, I have noticed that the Quest 2 (compared with the original Quest) is slower calculating routes, finding things, and refreshing the map as you travel. I love the fact that this units fits in a shirt pocket and can run for many hours on one recharge. I suspect this is because of the increased memory (the amount of data it has to go through). I bought it to replace my Garmin Quest that was lost/stolen. Unlike the original Quest, this one holds all of North America (no more reloading maps every time I travel). For me the speed is acceptable but you can wait for 30 seconds or so while it plots longer routes. If you love portable use and small units for traveling, get this one, unless you are impatient with these things.
It has both the capabilities for the user that just wants to enter an address and be guided to the destination as well as many more sophisticated features and capabilities. I have used teh Garmin Quest 2 for a number of years. This is my second as my other was stolen. It also has a great battery life and fits easily in a shirt pocket. It's just ashame that Garmin is discontinuing the model as they do not currently offer anything with the same capabilities.
I bought this GPS about a year ago and absolutely love it. The only drawback to it is that it sometimes takes a while to calculate route changes. I use it on my motorcycle as well as my car. It works great. It comes with the software needed to plan a route and that works great to plan trips on my motorcycle. I would recommend this product.
Replaced first two with the Quest2 because couldn't upgrade their internal maps. This my third Garmin GPS. All have worked very well. Quest2 can be used in a vehicle or hand held with topo maps. Good replacement for older models
